Vocation History
The idea of becoming a priest has been on my mind since I finished my second year of studies in high school. I went every Friday to the weekly youth mass. While at mass, I would sit near the front pews where I was able to observe what was happening. After Mass one Friday, one of the priests from my parish came to me and asked me if I had ever thought about becoming a priest. I told him that the thought had crossed my mind. He smiled at me and told me to trust God, pray a lot and put this issue in God’s hands. After that short conversation with the priest, I started to spend much more time praying and asking God if the priesthood was a good idea for me. I don’t know how it exactly happened, but I trust God and I believe that my decision to enter the seminary was exactly what that priest from my parish had recommended to me – to trust God, pray a lot and put this into God’s hands. Now that I am in the seminary, I hope that, if it is God’s will, I will be ordained as a priest and serve his people in the Diocese of Paterson.
